Excellent value for money!

We stayed at the Larespark Hotel, Istanbul, Turkey during our 4-day stay. It was booked thru a travel agent in Oman, as part of a tour package and we are glad that we opted for this hotel. The check-in was smooth, the staff very courteous and overall service was good. The room was spacious and housekeeping was good. I would rate their breakfast as best in town for the price. Overall, I would rate this hotel as excellent value for money.

Excellent hotel in Taksim

This is a very nice hotel - Got an excellent spacious room - All the luxury amenities.

The hotel has an excellent pool/sauna/turkish bath. The location is great. In the new part of the town - lively!

On the downside, the staff seems a bit junior -not really sophisticated- dealing with customers. They lacked a concierge so when you ask questions about places to eat, etc, they have no clue! If you know where you going then it should be fine - or ask other hotels around.

Impressive LARESPark

It was a very welcome surprise to start my first work related trip of 2008 with a hotel as impressive as the Larespark, which was splendid in every respect. The room was full of those little extras which make a stay so much more enjoyable such as a bathrobe, tea and coffee, a free English language newspaper in the morning, a copy of Timeout, a choice of pillows and even a shoe polishing kit. Moreover, the staff are polite and helpful to the man and woman. The location just of Taksim Square is also a major selling point, though be aware of the local restaurant and bar touts. Return I will!

Great choice

We were very happy with our choice. Great hotel, excellent location, very friendly staff. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. The pool, sauna and hamam are very nice as well. The breakfast buffet is fantastic. We would definately stay at Larespark again.

A comfortable refuge from the chaos of Istanbul

I stayed at the LaresPark for five nights in August 2008, and found it to be comfortable and clean. The staff was very competent and the desk clerks were fluent in English and German, and extremely helpful. The area around Taksim square is very busy and confusing, and there were numerous incidents of pickpocketing reported while I was there, so caution is the best advice. Each room has a secure combination safe. Best to use it and leave extra credit cards and valuables there. The breakfast at the hotel an incredible buffet with familiar and unfamiliar foods, and beautiful breads and pastries. One can take good advantage of this and make each day a two meal day.

Great Choice

Third time in Istanbul and Lares was the right choice. Great Hotel very close to Taksim, but quiet. Very clean, with all standards, nice atmosphere, modern - classic decoration and with very efficient personell at the reception. The Hotel is rated 4+ but is much better than other 5 star hotels that I have stayed in Istanbul. I found also the price very reasonable. Definetely one of the best choices in Istanbul.

I had no problems at this hotel

I just completed a six night stay in connection with a business convention in Istanbul and found nothing to dislike about the LaresPark. My room on the 8th floor was clean and comfortable. I received good service by the desk, lobby and door staff in twice each day arranging taxi pickup and instructing the driver on my destinations.

Service by the restaurant waiters and bar staff and service was excellent. The breakfast included in my rate was exceptional with eggs prepared to order if requested.

It is located in a pedestrian section with the only vehicular traffic being taxis to the hotels and commercial deliveries. A friend on the 2nd floor said there was little street noise, even on the Republic Day national holiday when nearby Taksim Square was a festival madhouse and fireworks over the Bosporus.

I would recommend it to anyone seeking modest priced accommodations near the commercial center of the European side of the city.

Very nice, good value.

I was just at the LaresPark Hotel for 3 nights on business and found this hotel to be very nice and very good value for money. I paid 90 euros per night, not including breakfast for the most basic room which was not so basic at all. While you can probably find cheaper in Istanbul, it is seldom with all the facilities of a larger hotel such as this

The hotel is in a fantastic location - 3 minutes walk from Taksim Square . There are a number of similar hotels in this area and I understand they have all been renovated recently since 3 years ago when the group of streets was cleaned up and closed off to all but hotel traffic. The result is a very nice, clean, safe and attractive hotel enclave which I have to say is a real breath of fresh air in a city that can be chaotic. Taksim Square gives you access to all the restaurants and shops you need.

The hotel lobby is extremely attractive. and the whole hotel in general has a nice fresh air about it. Its only a relatively small hotel, but it has excellent facilities including a small gym, an indoor pool and of course a Turkish bath. There is also an Italian restaurant, but I didn't eat there.

The room itself was quite large, with a king size bed, a desk and 2 comfortable arm chairs. The room was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was small, and here was my only real gripe with the hotel. The shower was pretty terrible. The water temperature was impossible to control, ranging from freezing cold to scolding hot, and the shower head itself was new, but very poor quality and the water pressure was non existent. On the other hand, the room had all the little extras such as a bathrobe, slippers etc. There is also an LCD TV, but best of all, there is a very nice stereo system with the ability to plug a USB stick in, so I was able to listen to my tunes on a nice system instead of on my laptop speakers or my MP3 headphones. Its small things like this that really make a difference IMHO.

Bonus point for free wireless internet access throughout the hotel.

Breakfast was excellent. Plenty to choose from, a guy making omelets to order, lots of breads, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange and grapefruit juice, cereals, jams, pastries, etc. etc.

All in all I was very happy with the LaresPark and intend to stay there again when on business in Istanbul if the opportunity arises.
